Changing Your Life's Direction

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Just stop for a second and have a look around you. Now ask yourself if this is the kind of lifestyle you wanted.

If the answer is “No”, then my query to you is “why not?” “What are you doing to switch your life?” most of the people who’ve been asked what they have done to modify their lives say “it’s no use because…” and so that’s just how it goes.

The first step in getting out of the rut is to stop making excuses and think accountability for the standard of your life. How do I know? I know because others have done it. Yes there’ll always be hurdles, but none that can’t be overcome. Mark Twain once said “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight; it’s the size of the fight in the dog.”

If your “want to” is robust enough, you are able to do virtually anything you set your mind to. The second step is to stop making excuses and just going out on a limb and doing it. There isn’t any time like the present to switch course. You may not succeed at first, but if you keep trying then eventually you will. Remember the old proverb “Today is the first day of the remainder of your life.” do not be concerned about making a mistake.

Albert Einstein once said “Anyone who hasn’t screwed up hasn’t attempted anything new.” Gamble, and as William Durant, the founding father of General Motors recounted “Forget past mistakes. Forget everything except what you are going to do now and do it”
